At the time of designated oil change, used engine oil is drained from the oil sump, mixed with diesel or JP-8 from the fuel tank, and returned to the fuel tank of the vehicle. Used engine oil blended with diesel or JP-8 in percentages up to 7.5% meets EPA emission requirements, with no negative effects on engine performance.
Saves Money
For each gallon of used oil blended, the cost of one gallon of diesel or JP-8 is saved. The cost of collecting, handling, storing and transporting used oil are eliminated.
